This is an overview of the creative process that I hope will
trigger your curiosity and lead you to further question your
personal understanding of how you create your life. I believe it
is important to state from the outset that whilst this process
does follow Universal laws it also unfolds uniquely through each
individual; my purpose here is to share my experience and invite
you to continually question your beliefs and motives around this
topic.

Who am I to offer advice? Well I am one who lives a happy, full,
balanced and peaceful life with a beautiful loving family and an
income quite sufficient to meet my needs. I have been consciously
creating my lifestyle for 10 years and am now refining,
developing and sharing my understanding of how you to can live
the life of your dreams.

The bottom line in all this is that "Thought Creates", all things
began initially as an idea or impulse in somebody’s mind. The
truth of this is easy to recognise consciously. For instance,
suppose you want to build a house. First comes the idea and
desire to build a house, then that idea is nurtured and refined
until the house is designed and drawn on paper. Then using the
structure defined on those plans you and various trades people
manifest your idea into three-dimensional physical reality as a
house. I have thought this article into existence, and we are
each continuously creating both consciously and sub consciously
with our minds. There are many books on this subject with an
excellent first book being Louise Hay's "You Can Heal Your Life".
However I urge you to really sense inward at what feels true and
applicable to you as you read this text or any books; what works
for Louise may not be the precise way for you. Her books, and
everyone else's books on the subject for that matter, are simply
the author’s interpretation of the process, their experiences,
not yours. Your task is to adapt the processes and teachings so
that they fit into your life perfectly and effortlessly. It is
finding your power and your truth that will really bring an
element of effortlessness and confidence into the process as you
become ever clearer as the creator of your life dream. What is
your truth as you read this, how do you react, what is stirred
within you? Look at these questions lightly, with quiet curiosity
and have fun with them.

Step one is to observe your thoughts and feelings on what you are
wishing to create or manifest. Are you focusing on what you want
or what you do not want? Always focus on what you want and notice
how uplifting that feels relative to focusing on what you do not
want!

Watch the intent behind your thoughts and language carefully. For
example, can you feel the subtle but profound difference in the
relative creative strength and clarity of stating, "I want to pay
all my bills by the due date this month" as opposed to "I don't
want to be short of cash this month"? Or look back at a situation
where you were faced with a whole range of choices (such as
clothes shopping) but felt confused or undecided. It is only when
you clarify what you want or are looking for that you are finally
able to make a clear choice. Without that clarity you feel
confused, frustrated, or thwarted even. You will rarely get
anything you want if you only know what you do not want. You need
clarity of desire, feeling and motive to create efficiently.

Is what you are wishing to create based upon a belief or feeling
of fear and lack, for instance wanting a lot of money in order to
feel totally secure or safe? Money can only bring security in
limited areas of your life. True security comes with the presence
of a feeling of faith and trust that up wells from deep within
you, in really knowing that you are in the perfect place (in each
and every moment) from which to create the next moment of your
experience of life. As Eckhart Tolle reminds us in his book "The
Power Of Now"

"Realize deeply that the present moment is all you ever have."

Accessing this full peaceful awareness becomes easier with
practice and an increasing clarity of intent and desire to feel
it. Have you really considered though, how many awful or
difficult situations you have been involved in that have not
finally, in hindsight, turned out to be for the best, even if
only for the wisdom you gained from the experience? Now, you are
really going to struggle with manifesting your longings if you do
not truly believe that you deserve to have them fulfilled. A
positive belief in your deservedness is key; without it your best
efforts may prove fruitless and you will find crisis and self
sabotage continually thwarting you. How can you draw the perfect
job, partner or lifestyle into your life if you do not really
think and feel (both consciously and subconsciously) that you are
deserving of that?

A key part of manifesting work is re-programming and clearing
your negative beliefs, fears and judgements that block your sense
that you deserve happiness or abundance. This means, in part,
focusing on your strengths above your perceived weaknesses and
continually recognising your successes. Truly celebrating every
success however small. By doing this you lift yourself into a far
more energised and positive mental and emotional state from which
to create; when you feel positive your creations and experiences
reflect that. Make a point of choosing to adopt a happy outlook.

Practice recognising the abundance all around you, rejoicing in
the exuberance of nature, celebrate the good fortune of others,
and seeing what is right, hopeful and encouraging in the world.
Nurture what you want in yourself and applaud the successes of
others.

The life creation process is really quite simple.

# Clarify what it is you are wishing to manifest.

# Determine why you want, feel, need and deserve this.

# Set quiet time aside to allow yourself the full feeling of
"knowing" that this desire is now on its way to being fulfilled
in your life.

# Do whatever personal practices you require to maintain your
positive attitude and feelings of faith and optimism high.

# Continually note what action is required on your part to bring
your creation into existence and act upon it. Right thought leads
to right action; you will have to get some things done. Think -
Feel - Do

Some of many examples from my life:-

* After a series of mostly fun but ultimately failed
relationships I finally sat down and wrote down what it was I was
seeking in my perfect partner. A couple of months later I met my
wife to be and the mother of our two children on my first and
only blind date about five hundred miles from where I live.

* When I started my business some thirteen years ago I had one
small project that barely paid the rent. However I simply knew
the time was right and that somehow something would turn up. I
then got a “chance” phone call, in the nick of time, that lead to
a project that financed the full start up of my business and
established me strongly in the market.

* I have at times taken on projects where I have not had the
skilled staff to complete them. People with the necessary skills
have always phoned asking for a job and I now have a workforce
that is almost entirely self-managing.

* My partner and I sat down to decide on the new home we wished
to live in. A few months later a property came on the market that
fit the bill very closely and as it was leasehold we could afford
it.

* A couple of years ago I was faced with two huge tax bills (for
more than triple my total annual earnings) following problems
with un-profitable yacht projects and a dispute with the tax
authorities. After discussions and negotiations these bills were
very substantially reduced and although I had to sell some
assets. I also had business projects become profitable and the
bill was paid.

As I have worked at understanding my beliefs, my fears, and the
workings of this creative process, every area of my life has
quickly become richer, more peaceful and fulfilling. I am sure
yours will also.

Through our working lifetime, saving forces battle the ‘live
life’ forces. In our family sometimes saving won and sometimes
spending won. As retirement approached we had equity in our
home, a small nest egg, and no consumer debt.

Through our working lifetime, the conservative asset allocation
forces battled the aggressive asset allocation forces. In our
family, we mostly allocated and diversified with random financial
transactions. There was no written or even spoken plan.
Individual transactions were analyzed as discrete events loomed,
not as part of a total plan. Thankfully we weren’t living beyond
our means or wildly aggressive investors. As retirement
approached our nest egg was split 50/50 between common stock and
money market funds.

Finally, I retired and only then began studying our financial
life from a big picture point of view.

Most of my early reading reinforced the common perception that
asset allocation between asset classes reduces risk. The theory
is that prices in different asset classes inflate and deflate at
different rates. Rising bond prices might offset falling stock
prices. Rising real estate prices might offset falling commodity
prices. One of the champions of asset allocation is Burton G.
Malkiel, PhD. In A Random Walk Down Wall Street he popularized
a life-cycle approach to asset allocation. He proposed that
retirees should shift more of their nest egg into bonds or other
fixed income securities. The theory is that when salaries/wages
stop and projected years to live decrease we can tolerate less
risk.

Along the way I started looking at ways to access the equity in
our home. I looked at reverse mortgages and discovered what
reverses is the mortgage balance. In a conventional mortgage the
balance decreases with each payment you make to the bank. With a
reverse mortgage the balance increases with each payment the bank
makes to you. The balance grows, but at some point the bank has
to be paid off. Often cash is raised to pay the bank by selling
the home.

Jeremy Siegel, PhD. studied more than 200 years of US stock
market data. He determined on average the stock market returns a
real return of 6.8% per year. He found that on average the stock
market out yields other equity classes, and says “stocks remain
the best bet in the long run for US investors.”

In mid 2002, these ideas were swirling around in my retired head.
Diversifying asset classes reduces risk. Stock market has
greatest average return. Interest rates, mortgage rates are at a
fifty year low. I also knew from financial theory that pursuit
of greater return requires acceptance of more risk. Conversely,
avoidance of risk limits return. Some Excel spreadsheets with
random number generators convinced me that the average annual
draw from a retirement nestegg 100% in equities would exceed that
of any mix of bonds and equities. Average draw would be more,
but in individual years the draws possible for a bond portfolio
are sometimes greater.

In July of 2002, we refinanced our mortgage and invested the
proceeds in the stock market. The account is also my checking
account. The plan was to keep the account balance at about the
mortgage balance. The balance would be maintained by spending
less if the account fell below the mortgage, and spending more if
the account climbed above the mortgage. The account started with
$128,175.86. Since then I’ve withdrawn $34,921.17 more than I
have deposited, the investment value has grown by $35,782.19 and
the account is at $129,036.87. The withdrawals include all
interest and principle payments and closing cost for the first
refinance and for a second refinance along the way. The mortgage
balance is $127,766.97.

This strategy is working for us. I like the idea of staying
flexible, slowing spending when the market is down and spending
more when the market is up. Last year I spent $10,000 on
reflooring and painting our condo. This year I’m spending the
same on a 1990 Mustang Convertible. These are flexible projects.
The market gave a little extra so we spent it. This strategy is
probably not appropriate for everyone. There is always the
chance that a bad year in the market will coincide with large
inflexible expense.

In retrospect, I wish I had figured out at the start of my
working life that diligent investment into a diversified equity
portfolio would have made me wealthy. I wish I’d figured out
borrowing for an investment was probably a better use of credit
than borrowing for a new car. But, when you are in your
twenties, who thinks deferred consumption is good. I’m happy now
with more than 100% of my equity in the stock market.

In a future article I’ll discuss my Excel retirement draw models,
and point out a website that goes far beyond. The website lets
you play with asset allocation, funding amounts, and your
expected longevity to see what your monthly withdrawal will be.

It May Be Time for a Wake Up Call!

Early retirement? Enjoyable retirement? Better QUALITY of Life?

YOUR answers to three simple questions below can quickly help
you put your personal situation in perspective. The article that
follows offers some important food for thought and solutions to
some common problems.

1) When would you LIKE to 'retire'?

[] In two years or less
[] In two - five years
[] In five - ten years or more

Great! What’s YOUR PLAN to achieve that goal?

2) How much money do YOU need monthly to 'retire' comfortably
or maintain your desired standard of living?
(Are prices the same now as they were 10-20 years ago? Will
they be the same 10-20yrs after you retire?)

[] $1,000
[] $2,000
[] $3,000
[] $5,000 or more.

Great! What’s YOUR PLAN to receive that monthly income?

3) How much money do you need to invest at a 6% return to
receive your desired monthly income?
(Take your answer from #2 and multiply by 200)

Great! What’s YOUR PLAN to accumulate that nest egg in your
chosen time frame?

Most people who expect to enjoy a care-free, enjoyable retirement
by following conventional wisdom, methods, and strategies, have
their heads buried in the sand and are in for some unpleasant
surprises or a rude awakening.

It’s time to wake up and plan ahead if you hope to spend your
“golden years” doing more than watching reruns of old television
shows from your rocker with drool running down your chin as you
wait for the next “meals on wheels” delivery to be made.

No matter which side of the current political debate you fall on,
you're not looking at all the facts if you don’t think “working
class” Americans (and others around the world) face some serious
impending financial problems. And most politicians on either
side don’t really care. They’ve got their own personal agendas
and a luxurious retirement plan already funded by your
hard-earned and often misspent tax dollars. But that’s a
whole other nightmare and article.

Nobody who looks at all the FACTS with half an ounce of common
sense could deny potential serious problems lie ahead. Below
are just a few quick facts to consider. They are by no means
all-inclusive.

* True “job security” is a thing of the distant past.
* More goods and services are being produced from outside our
borders, and the trend is GROWING.
* According to recent statistics the 'average' American carries
7 credit cards and is over $9,000 in credit card debt alone.
* The two biggest roadblocks to individual wealth accumulation
are TAXES and INTEREST on consumer debt.
* Federal deficits are at an all time high, and the long term
commitment in Iraq isn't helping that situation.
* A HUGE swell of 'babyboomers' already reaching early
retirement age will be dropping out of the work force over
the coming 10-15 years. Revenues will decline and many
expenses will rise, both for individuals and the system.
* People are living much longer and spending more in their
later years on health care and prescription drugs. That
creates a need for a much larger nest egg than most people
plan on.
* Health care and prescription drug cost increases continue to
dramatically outpace inflation.
* Oil prices at an all time high with no end in sight create
a major squeeze on the poor and middle class and have an
immediate upward impact on INFLATION.
* Social Security benefits will have to be cut, or taxes
raised, or BOTH.
* Company sponsored pension plans have been on a major decline
for years and will eventually become extinct.

So is there any GOOD NEWS?

Yes, theres plenty - for people who are willing to recognize
some TRENDS in society, look “outside the box”, and make a
paradigm shift in some outdated thoughts and actions.

But first you have to be able to answer two more questions
correctly:

1) Who’s more likely to have a better income and quality of
life - a successful business owner or their employees?

2) And based on that answer and several of the bulleted
facts above, what is quickly becoming the...
World’s #1 Financial Success Strategy?

The correct answer to the first question should be obvious.
The answer to the second is: Owning your own business.

But that brings up even more questions: What type of business?
How can “average” people afford to start a business?
What special knowledge or skills are required? etc. etc.

A successful business needs to be able to recognize and adapt to
trends in society and provide products or services that people
want or need. Thanks to advances in modern technology, the
Internet, and low cost long distance rates - the combination
of which allows worldwide communication at the speed of light -
successful International businesses with very low overhead can
now be run from the comfort and convenience of home, or from
anywhere you can get access to a telephone line.

And if you find the RIGHT business, start up and overhead costs
are very low, and you can "earn while you learn".

Starting a conventional business can be a risky and expensive
venture. Most fail before they ever get off the ground and most
'average' people don't have the capital or skills required.
Most 'mom & pop' businesses are nothing more than a low paying
job with long hours.

Might there be a better way?

Looking back over my bulleted list of real PROBLEMS above, a
few major potential opportunities and solutions stand out:

1) There is a HUGE worldwide demand, need, and desire for
people to:

* Take back control of their lives,
* Increase their current income or create additional
income,
* Enjoy more free time or increased QUALITY of life,
* Legally minimize their tax burden and debt situation,
* Eliminate many of the hassles, stress, wasted time,
and expenses of commuting to a job or career, and
* Improve their long term financial security.

2) The US government (and most others) gives significant tax
breaks to people who own and operate a legitimate business
with the intention to make a profit.

3) The “natural” health and wellness industry is growing by
leaps and bounds and is predicted by many experts to be
the next trillion dollar industry. More and more people
are successfully addressing health concerns "naturally"
and are reducing their costs of health care, their
dependency on prescription drugs, and greatly enhancing
their quality of life.

How can knowing or recognizing the simple facts above help
you? And what if there was a way to profit simultaneously or
synergistically from ALL of them?

Developing a “Millionaire Mindset” is the key!

Have you read “Rich Dad Poor Dad” or other books by
multi-millionaire best selling author Robert Kiyosaki? How
about the all time best selling classic “Think and Grow Rich”
by Napolean Hill? If not, contact me to get a free copy of
the latter.

Millionaires, successful business owners, and entrepreneurs, all
have a different attitude and mindset about money - that anybody
can learn. They understand and take advantage of three powerful
concepts Passive Recurring Income, Leverage, and Geometric
Growth Potential. I don’t have time to cover all the important
details in this brief article. But I can provide them via email
in a free report titled “3 Millionaire Secrets Revealed”. Or
you can learn more on the Internet at: http://www.RUwealthy.com

What type of business gives “average people” the best shot at
success and a realistic chance to achieve their dreams?

According to “Rich Dad Poor Dad” author Robert Kiyosaki and
many other experts, NEW WAVE network marketing has become the
“Perfect Business”. For more details from Mr. Kiyosaki, visit:
http://www.RichDad4.com

Unfortunately the terms 'network marketing' or ‘MLM’ have a bad
rap with the general population because many people have tried
and failed. Others confuse legal and legitimate opportunities
with the many illegal scams and “pyramid schemes” that will
always be around as long as foolish, greedy, or naïve people
believe they can “get rich quick for doing nothing”.

Legitimate network marketing is simply an unconventional way to
build a distribution network for quality products and services.
The business model gives every individual the opportunity to
become CEO of their own business, and eliminates many of the
negatives and typical "glass ceilings" of the corporate world.

The sad truth is that most people who start ANY business do NOT
have success. There are many reasons for that simple truth.
But the biggest one is…

LOVE IS BLIND!

People who fall in love - whether it be with a person, a concept,
or a product - seldom maintain the ability to objectively
evaluate the BIG PICTURE or complete package.

Do you think most people make most decisions based on emotions,
or based on logical evaluation of all the facts? I’ll guarantee
you that most are made based on emotions, then frequently
rationalized by choosing questionable ‘facts’ that support the
decision that was already made. It may sound foolish but it's
“human nature”.

The same thing happens in business. But there are 5-9 “Pillars
to Success” or "Universal Laws" that must ALL be in place before
any substantial long term success can be achieved in any
business. I’d be happy to email a summary sheet or access
to more detailed information to anyone who's interested.

Anyone with an open-minded willingness to learn, who is willing
to do a little research, get some good information, and find the
right company, mentors, and TEAM to work with, can achieve truly
uncommon success in a relatively short time.

Starting part-time, it's possible to produce a life and lifestyle
most people only dream of in 3-5 years. Some people do it much
quicker. All you need is some important fact-based information,
some support and training from a good coach, mentor, or TEAM,
and a willingness to put what you learn into ACTION.

Best wishes for Financial Security and a care-free, enjoyable,
and long lasting early retirement! It can all be yours for
the asking if you understand and apply a few simple concepts.

For your own Self-knowledge

Now, for you own self-knowledge, and also because we basically attract what
we are, take a look at what you are expecting from your ideal mate and
evaluate yourself as to how much you yourself embody those traits you are
asking for.

The most effective way to attract what we desire, is to become that
ourselves.
You do not need to send us your conclusions here.
This is for you own self-awareness.

Please Don't Go: Alleviating Separation Anxiety
Copyright 2005 Dr. Charles Sophy
Keep 'Em Off My Couch
http://drsophy.com

As school winds down does your child wind up?

The separation process can be difficult for all involved.
Separation anxiety is the conflicting feelings that children
have when they part from the person or people to whom they
are most attached.  At the end of the school year, many
children experience anxiety when saying goodbye to teachers
and classmates.  Many experience it again at the end of the
summer when it's time to go back to school.

Separation anxiety is a normal process in a child's
development.  It is a process that requires open
communication, as well as, self-awareness. The process will
be successful if several key points are addressed.

Here are some simple Do's and Don'ts to help alleviate your
child's end-of-school (and back-to-school) anxiety and help
them (and you) enjoy a much happier summer.

Do's

• Know yourself: Examine your thoughts and feelings about
the separation process.

• Know your child: Ask questions, find out his or her
thoughts, feelings about the end (or beginning) of the
school year, as well as the meanings of communication.

• Intervene Early: Don't wait until the last day of school
or the last day of summer.  Address significant and/or
consistent behavior changes.

• Follow-through: Say what you mean and mean what you say.

• Communicate: Communication is key.  Talk with teachers,
listen, learn, and, most of all, be open

Don'ts

• Ignore your own feelings:  Separation is difficult. Don't
stifle or undervalue your feelings in favor of your
child's.

• Ignore your child's feelings: Your child may display
feelings of anxiety or sadness.  Don't ignore or devalue
their feelings about the separation process

• Give in or give up: Clarify the conflicts and work out a
resolution. Don't give in to the "I'm not going to summer
camp" or "I'm not going to school" threats.

• Underestimate impact effects of change: Children are
creatures of routine. Your child has been following a set
routine for the entire school year.  Don't underestimate the
effect that summer holidays, illnesses, vacations, and
deaths can have on a child's routines.

• Forget about age appropriate behavior: Don't expect your
child to exhibit adult behaviors when dealing with their
anxieties.  And don't tolerate any age inappropriate
behavior (such as when your nine year old starts talking
like a toddler!).

When to reach out

Keep an eye out for the following signs that your child may
be experiencing separation anxiety.   Most separation
anxiety can be solved by increased communication with your
child.

• Increased closeness at home etc.

• Increased irritability and/or tantrums

• Decreased desire to socialize

• Changes in sleep

• Changes in appetite

Remember: You are the expert when it comes to your family
and child. If you have a concern, trust your instinct and
find someone trained to help you.  Discuss your concerns
with friends and family, too. You don't need to worry
alone!

[aageneral] Rewriting Your Resume? 7 Easy Ways To Give Yourself An Upgrade

Rewriting Your Resume? 7 Easy Ways To Give Yourself An
Upgrade

By Nigel Patterson
© 2005

In today's competitive job market, a first class resume is
an essential tool for winning an interview. The way in which
you present your skills, achievements and experience on
paper will profoundly affect the way in which a hiring
company considers your application.

An expertly crafted resume not only captures the attention
of its reader through careful attention to layout and
formatting; it also targets the specific needs of the
potential employer by matching and highlighting your
abilities and background to the key requirements of the
position.

So what exactly is the 'perfect resume'?

It's well-nigh impossible to get recruitment professionals
to agree on this.  For example, take the vexed question of
the 'resume objective'. Some employers prefer to see a
clearly stated objective as evidence of a candidate's career
focus; others consider including an objective to be a
restrictive practice - or worse, little more than vague
waffle.

So in the pursuit of a truly personalized resume, it's
hardly surprising that effective practice differs from
applicant to applicant -- and what suits one job-hunter may
not work so well for another.

And while it's impossible to lay down hard and fast rules of
best practice in resume writing, it's a whole lot easier to
identify some of the habits that can turn recruiters right
off - perhaps even sabotage a candidate's chances from the
start!

In this article, I've collected some of these common resume
blunders -- so if you're looking to upgrade your resume,
here's a checklist of seven easy ways to start!

1. Don't rely on a 'one size fits all' resume

If your resume is going to get you the interviews you
deserve, it needs to focus on the particular demands of the
job. So unless your field is very narrow, it's likely that
you'll need to adapt your resume to each specific
application.

To help you target your resume, try answering these
questions:

* you're thinking of applying for a job; what would the
perfect applicant be like?

* what are their most important characteristics?

* what skills and attributes do they possess?

When you profile the 'ideal candidate' in this way, you're
putting yourself in the employer's shoes: thinking first
about what matters to them and imagining what they'll be
looking for when they make a short list from all the
applications they'll receive.

This is a really useful exercise to help you decide which of
your own abilities and achievements to spotlight in your
resume.

2. Make sure you include complete contact information

Your cover letter may get separated from the resume. Don't
blithely assume that because your address and telephone
number are in the letter, they don't need to be on the
resume as well -- they do!

If the employer wants to get hold of you, they'll likely use
the phone. So ensure that you give a personal number
(including area code) where you can be reached during the
day or where messages can be left. Include a cell phone
number and e-mail address where possible.

3. Make the resume easy to read

Don't print your resume in any font size smaller than 11 pt.
Be liberal with white space and remember that bullet points
in a list help a reader to absorb information.

You can emphasize headers and key points by discreet use of
bold type, capitals or underlining -- but don't overdo the
effect.

Consider going on to a second sheet if a single page is
crammed.

4. Seize the reader's interest in the first few lines

If your application is one of dozens or even hundreds
received, you need to capture the attention of the reader in
just a few seconds. The best way to focus interest at the
start is with a powerful objective -- or, if you prefer it,
a skills summary. It's the place to emphasize your key
achievements and core expertise and identify specific job
goals.

The employer wants a straight answer to the question 'What
can this person do for me?' -- so make your profile easy to
read and give a clear statement of what you can bring to the
job.

5. Don't underplay your achievements and experience

You've already imagined what the perfect candidate for the
job would be like. So now focus on those aspects of your own
background and skill set that best illustrate those
attributes.

Highlight your key accomplishments and areas of authority
and, wherever possible, use action verbs and statements that
quantify what you have achieved. But don't get creative
here: make sure you give evidence for your claims.

6. Order your information according to what the reader wants
to know

There's no single correct order of elements in a resume.
Everything depends on what the employer or recruiter is most
interested in finding out.

In general, put your most relevant material first! Many
recruiters like a reverse chronological order of dates.

Also be aware that some employers dislike a purely
functional resume format and feel that it glosses over gaps
in work history or other shortcomings.

7. Check your spelling and grammar

There's no substitute for careful proofreading of your
resume. Use grammar and spell checking software by all
means, but be aware that it may not always pick up
contextual errors.

Print the document and check it on paper rather than on
screen. If possible, ask a reliable friend or relative to
double check for mistakes. Don't forget to check that you
have spelled names correctly.

Conclusion: keep developing your resume

Your resume is a powerful marketing tool. It will always be
a 'work in progress', constantly needing updates and
refinements according to changing circumstances. If you're
planning or conducting a job search, redrafting your resume
could be one of the best investments you make towards your

"Need Help? You Might Want to Consider Outsourcing"

by Merle http://MCPromotionsPress.com

Running your own online business can take a lot of
your time. You have to wear many hats and perform
many tasks: including accounting, web design, marketing
and promotion. This is not to mention constantly coming
up with new content for your site or to distribute it
in article format for free publicity.

There are only so many hours in the day and to be
honest, one person can only do so much. So what's
the answer? I have one word for you: "outsourcing."
This is where you hire someone else to perform a
specific job or task for you. Outsourcing frees
up time you can spend on more valuable aspects
of your web business.

So what kinds of things might you want to farm
out?  Great question! Customer service can take
up a lot of time; answering emails, dealing with
technical problems or billing issues. Imagine
the freedom of assigning those aspects of your
business to someone else. If you want to offer
live customer support on your website, there
are companies that will serve up 24/7 live
operators to answer any questions your site
visitors may have when you can't be around to
answer them yourself.

How about software creation? If this is the field
you're in or one you'd like to enter but aren't
a programmer yourself, you can hire top notch
techies to write the stuff for you. Some will
work for pennies on the dollar. Imagine having
a top notch software package you can own and
sell -- and keep all the profits.

How are your writing skills? An online entrepreneur
need ads, articles, press releases and other written
items to promote the business. And if you'd like
to offer free or paid ebooks and reports, you'll
need to be a pretty good writer. So what if you
never paid attention in English class? Hire
someone to do it for you. There are plenty of
talented writers online who are looking daily
for assignments such as this. When the work is
done it bears your name on the finished product.

Running marketing and ad campaigns such as Pay
Per Click advertising can take up a ton of time,
with all that testing and tracking. Again, this
is another area you can farm out.

Ever have an idea for a new website but never
took the time to research it? This happens to
many busy entrepreneurs. So many projects, so
little time. Research is another area you may
want to consider letting someone else do for
you.

So now that you know how outsourcing can help
you to become more productive, where do you find
people to hire? Fortunately, there are plenty
of sites that exist for you to post your job needs --
and plenty of hungry freelancers who will come
to bid on your jobs. This works especially well
for those on a budget who have a firm idea of
what they can afford to spend.

Let's examine a few of your options:

1) RentACoder: http://RentACoder.com

Review resumes and work histories of over 96,577
registered coders. Post your needs, and coders
will email you their bids. Posting a job request
is free and you are under no obligation to accept
any bids unless you decide to. When you accept
a bid, the money is put into escrow and not
released to the programmer until the job is
finished.

2) Elance: http://www.Elance.com

Outsource your small projects such as graphic
design, logos, web development, writing and
more. Select a category and describe your
project. You'll need to authenticate yourself
by inputting a credit card. There is no charge
to post a job in the "basic level" but there
is a refundable fee to post in the "select level."
You'll receive bids on your job and then select
a winner.

3) Smarter Work: http://SmarterWork.com

Post your project in one or more of many categories
to choose from, such as administrative support,
graphic design, translation, research, software
and more. They have over 70,000 clients and service
providers from over 170 countries. It's free to
register.

4) PHP Career: http://www.PHPCareer.com

If you have a PHP related job then this is where
you'll want to post it. Free of charge to post
your job needs, but donations are appreciated.

5) Guru: http://www.Guru.com

Free access to over 451,000 professionals with
over 160 categories to choose from. Post in website
design, graphic design, photography, writing and
programming and more. Fee is 5 to 10% of project
fee which is deducted from the final payment. You'll
receive quotes and be able to select the applicant
of your choice.

6) WorkAHolics4Hire: http://Workaholics4Hire.com

With this service you'll be assigned your very
own "project manager." You get to see the work
in progress and review it to make sure it meets
your needs. You'll need to contact them for a free
assessment of your needs.

7) FreeLanceWorkExchange: http://FreeLanceWorkExchange.com

Post a project for a wide variety of jobs and get
responses from qualified work at home pros. Post
all the jobs you want with no transaction fees. You
may have your listing placed higher for a fee of
$20.00. Categories range from writing, web design,
Internet research, data entry, programming, and
graphic design.

8) FreeLance Writing: http://FreeLanceWriting.com

If you need a writer, this is the place to look.
Provides companies with a handful of free tools
to locate freelancers. They also offer industry
news, job opportunities, editorial content, and
networking opportunities.

When posting your job on one of these sites you'll
want to make sure you give very specific detailed
instructions as to your project needs. If you're
vague, you may get applicants who can't do
the job or who don't meet your qualifications.

Many small businesses are outsourcing their needs
in order to keep up with the many tasks and challenges
they face as online entrepreneurs. If you find you
can't keep pace with your many online tasks, you may
want to consider it as an option.

YES, YOU ARE CREATIVE!
Three Ways to Explore Your Creativity

By Chris Dunmire, www.creativity-portal.com

Are you one of those people who claim `not to have a
creative bone in your body?' If so, you're going to love
this newsflash: Yes, you ARE creative!

Why am I so confident in telling you this? For the simple
fact that I've observed countless people in my life —
friends, family, and co-workers — make this same claim
only to later realize how wrong they were! Oh, and guess
what? I used to be one of those "I'm not creative"
people too.

I'll tell you what. If you still don't believe my claim
that, Yes, you ARE Creative!, I challenge you with the
following exercise.

3 Ways to Explore Your Creativity

I'm a firm believer that you can easily tap into your
creativity by expressing yourself through creative arts,
crafts, or writing. I want you to choose any one of these
mediums for this exercise.

Next, I'm going to prompt you with a project idea that you
must agree to spend at least 15-30 minutes of your time on.

Okay, are you ready? Here goes...

If you choose:

ART

Draw, sketch, paint, or collage a picture that incorporates
these five elements (realistically or abstractly):

- Door

- Water

- Animal

- Time

- Currency

CRAFTS

Using craft sticks, papers, yarns, fabrics, or found
objects, do one of the following:

- Design an easy craft project for a pre-school class.

- Pretend you're a world famous artist and build a 3D
sculpture for an upcoming gallery show. (Keep in mind that
anything you create will be adored and snatched up by your
fans, even if you think it looks like junk.)

- Create an abstract ornament to be auctioned off at your
favorite charity.

WRITING

Using up to 100 words, write about the following:

- Your autobiography.

- A major event that altered your life course.

- Give advice to your ten-year-old self.

Now I'm going to sit here and wait until you get back from
doing one of these creativity-inducing exercises. Once you
finish, read on...

(ah, ah — no looking ahead!)

What Happened?

Did you really do it? Did you sincerely put forth the time
and effort (15-30 minutes) on one of the creativity
exercises I prompted you with above? What happened when you
did? Did you have fun? Did you create something new and
unusual? Did you come away from it thinking, "Wow, I
didn't know I had it in me!"

Chances are that the process was positive and you gained
some interesting insight into your ability to be creative.
See what happens when your mind is focused and you're open
to new creative experiences? Amazing things take place once
you stop believing that you aren't creative, and start
practicing new ways to allow your creativity to surface.

So now what? Well, after you stop jumping up and down for
joy, this new insight into your creative self should
encourage you to keep moving forward to discovering your
true creative potential. Revisit some of my creativity
exercises if you need more prompts to keep you going.

I guarantee that the more attention you put towards your
creativity, the more amazing results you'll get in return.
No `bones' about it!
