The 2005 World Series of Poker started its 36th year bigger and
better than ever at the RIO! Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas,
Nevada. At the mid point of the tournament series, Events #1
through #22 have been completed. If you were not fortunate enough
to be in Las Vegas for this mega event, here are some of the
updates, results and highlights for you.

Records were being made from the start as 662 casino employees
entered Event #1 which was the "Casino Employee No-limit Hold'Em"
tournament. The number broke the record set last year, which was
279 entrants. Andy Nguyen, a poker dealer from Binion’s in Las
Vegas, won this event earning a payday of $83,390. Things really
picked up as Event #2 "No-Limit Texas Hold'Em" began with an
astounding 2,305 players signing up to play. For comparison, the
2004 WSOP Main Event had 2,576 players in it. Allen Cunningham
was the recipient of a WSOP gold bracelet and $725,405 for
winning this one. Event #3 "Pot-Limit Hold'Em" had Thom Werthmann
pocketing $369,535 by overcoming tough play from Layne Flack in
the heads up match at the final table. Another WSOP record was
set when 21 year old Eric Froehlich became the youngest person to
earn a WSOP championship bracelet by winning Event #4 "Limit
Hold'Em" and an additional $361,910 for his efforts. Pat Poels
who quit his full time job to become a professional poker player
won event #5 "Omaha Hi-Low Split". His paycheck that day was
$270,100. Isaac Galazan won Event #6 "No-limit Hold'Em" a
shootout tournament by defeating a determined Harry Demetriou and
took home $315,125 for becoming champion.

Event #7 "No-Limit Hold'Em with Rebuys" was won by 24 year old
poker tournament millionaire Michael Gracz, picking up an
additional $594,460 for the win. But Michael said he would give
up all the winnings just to have the WSOP bracelet, that's how
much it meant to him. Event #8 "Seven Card Stud" had online
qualifier Cliff Josephy claim the victory and $192,100. Erik
Seidel picked up his 6th WSOP bracelet and $611,795 after winning
the Event #9 "No-Limit Hold'Em" tournament. Reza Payvar who saw a
marathon 13 hour heads up match to the end, won Event #10 "Limit
Hold'Em". Reza, who received $303,610 and a WSOP bracelet, stated
he dedicated the win to his father who passed away last year.
Reza missed the 2004 WSOP to be with his father who had cancer.
Online qualifier Edward Moncada won Event #11 "Pot-Limit Hold'Em"
receiving his first WSOP bracelet and $298,070. The winner of
Event #12 "Pot Limit Omaha" was Josh Arieh who earned his 2nd
gold WSOP bracelet along with a $381,600 payday.

In his 58th major tournament win, T.J. Cloutier picked up his 6th
WSOP bracelet by winning the Event #13 "No Limit Hold'Em" event
and pocketing $657,100 in the process. Event #14 "Seven-Card Stud
High-Low Split" lasted 36 hours, but in the end Steve Hohn picked
up his bracelet and $156,985. Steve even endured a 4 1/2- hour
heads up battle with Mike Wattel at the final table to capture
this tournament victory! Mark Seif was able to place a desired
crown on his poker resume by winning Event #15 "Limit Hold'Em
Shootout" and $181,330 in his wallet. The champion for the Event
#16 "No-Limit Hold'Em Shootout" tournament was Anthony Reategui,
proving himself the best of 780 players for the title of champion
and $269,100. Quinn Do ended up with $265,975 for winning Event
#17's "Limit Hold'Em" tournament. Denis Ethier came from behind
as the final table's short stack to win Event #18 "Seven Card
Stud High-Low Split". Denis was rewarded with $160,682 for his
effort. And Barry Greenstein became the champion of the Event #19
"Pot Limit Omaha" tournament gaining another $423,405 and a
bracelet. Barry in his true humanitarian form dedicated his win
to a terminally ill cancer patient named Charlie Tuttle. For
Event #20 which was "Pot Limit Hold'Em", Brian Wilson won
$370,685 for his efforts at the WSOP.

Todd Brunson, son of Doyle Brunson was the winner of the Event
#21 "Omaha High-Low Split" tournament. Todd won $255,945 and
entered World Series of Poker history, as he and his father
became the only father and son to win championship bracelets. And
Mark Seif captured his 2nd WSOP bracelet in a week plus $611,145
to boot by winning the Event #22 "No-Limit Hold'Em" tournament.

With an unprecedented number of players participating, it seems
records are being broken and WSOP history is being rewritten
almost daily. Recently the WSOP officials revised their total
prize pool estimate from $60,000,000 to $100,000,000 because the
amount of people entering the tournaments has surpassed even
their highest expectations. When this tournament series becomes
televised, the world will have a lot to watch.

While you may be planning to outlive your pets, what if something
were to happen to you? Would Fido and Fluffy be provided for in
the event of your untimley death or if you became incapacitated?
Here's how you can insure that your pets get the proper care in
the event that you're not able to give it to them.

According to a recent New York Times article, "leaving money to
your pet became legally possible in 1990 when a section
validating trusts for domestic animals was added to the Uniform
Probate Code" which governs these types of matters. And laws in
27 states now allow pet owners to set up trusts for their pets to
pay for their care should you die or become incapacitated. And
more states, including Connecticut, Hawaii, Massachusetts,
Oregon, Pennsylvania and Texas, all have pet trust legislation
pending.

A trust for your pet is really no different than a trust for your
children. It basically is a legal document that is tied to a sum
of money set aside in a bank account with a trustee named to
manage the account on behalf of the person establishing the
trust.

For instance, my wife and I both have insurance trusts set up to
benefit our son in the event of our becoming incapacitated or
deaths. My wife is the executor of my trust as well as the
primary beneficiary and I'm the executor and beneficiary of her
trust with our son the secondary beneficiary of both trusts. In
the event that something were to happen to both my wife and I at
the same time, my sister and my wife's brother have been named as
co-executors. They have explicit instructions spelled out within
the trust on how we want our insurance policies disbursed to each
other or to our son.

Same with pets.

The NY Times article went on to report that unless specific
instructions are left in a will or with other family members,
pets are often given up or displaced with nearly 500,000 pets
killed in shelters and vet offices each year after their owners
die and the pets become abandoned.

Setting up a trust fund can cost a few hundred dollars or even a
lot less if you do it at the same time that you draw up a regular
will. And speaking of wills, yes, you can provide for the care
of your pets in a regular will but that only kicks in upon your
death and not if you're seriously ill or incapacitated. And
experts also caution not to leave excessive amounts of money to
pets that may cause challenges from other heirs. If you want
your pet to continue living in the style it's accustomed to,
$5,000 - $10,000 per animal should suffice. Some people leave
more and some less. It's entirely up to you.

The Humane Society of the United States offers a free kit that
helps you evaluate your pets' future without you. It includes a
six-page fact sheet, caregiver forms and more. You can contact
them at 202.452.1100 or via email at

Embrace the Four Fundamental Truths of Communication
Copyright © 2005 Mark Susnow
Inspire Possibility
http://www.inspirepossibility.com/

You're on the way to the airport. You get on the plane with a
book that you've been planning to read for quite some time. As
you open your book, you glance at the person next to you. A few
minutes later you are asked a question and you reluctantly
answer. You lower your book a bit to be polite and after a few
minutes you find yourself putting your book down and engaging in
a conversation, although with a lack of enthusiasm. And then the
person next to you, let's call him John, makes an observation
about you that's quite perceptive and sensitive. You start to
become curious about who John is and in the course of the
conversation, he tells you of an experience he has only shared
with a few people. You let John know that you have had the same
experience. By now you're totally engaged and listening to every
word he says. You notice every nuance in the inflection of his
voice and the way he moves. Time seems to stand still and the
next thing you know the plane lands. You say goodbye to the
kindred soul you have just met.

Wouldn't you love to have these experiences more often? You feel
heard and everything seems possible. It is communication at its
highest level and it's a lost art. You can have these experiences
more often if you embrace the four fundamental truths of
communication.

The first truth is to know that what we all want on a deeper
level is the ability to connect with another, to touch each
other's soul. Unfortunately, too many of our conversations are
just an exchange of ideas and information and we rarely penetrate
the surface. Most of our focus is on how we are going to respond
to what is being said instead of listening. When we know that
what the other person really wants is connection, there is common
ground to build upon. With this foundation, we can build
relationships that deepen and empower those involved.

The second truth is to know that listening involves much more
than just listening to words. It is tuning into the energy beyond
the words. It is understanding the needs and feelings of the
other person. It is about being totally engaged and at the same
time being in the rhythm of life. Yes, it takes a lot of energy
but you will be energized by what you get back. Imagine living in
a world where you are truly listening and fully engaged.

The third truth is to know that you must take responsibility for
the quality of your communication. Because we all have long
standing attitudes and beliefs we sometimes find ourselves trying
to convince the other person of our viewpoints. Being right then
becomes the goal of the interaction rather than communication and
the next thing you know you are in a full-fledged argument. Just
think of what happens when you discuss politics or religion. Is
being right more important than experiencing one of those magical
moments?

The fourth truth is that communication is a process and an art.
Being a masterful communicator doesn't happen over night but it
starts with the intention to experience more connection in your
busy life. Just like other art forms, i.e. dancing or music,
their is a natural ebb and flow in the learning cycle. As your
commitment deepens you notice that you are having frequent
glimpses of the magic that is possible in your life. The ultimate
communication occurs when you are able to touch anothers soul and
share who you are. This new-found magic then becomes the gateway
to a more fulfilling life.

At our core level we all have the same human needs and desires.
We want to know that we matter and that our life has meaning and
purpose. We also have the need to love and to be loved. When we
accept and recognize that we all have these same basic human
needs and desires we realize that we are part of one human
family. When we work together as one, what is possible in our
lives, communities, and the world expands.

Embracing the 4 fundamental truths of communication and applying
them to your daily life is a gift to all involved. As a way of
reaching out to others and connecting with them please share this
letter with the friends in your circle and let them know about
the advantages of being on the journey. Part of my journey has
been listening and learning from all the teachers who bless my
life. Your suggestions and comments contribute to my learning and
help me expand and evolve. Keep them flowing.

Journey On

Ham Radio, is fun, it is called the "Amateur Radio Service"
because it also has a serious face. The FCC created this
"Service" to fill the need for a pool of experts who could
provide backup communication services in times of disasters and
emergencies. Countless lives have been saved where skilled ham
radio operators act as emergency communicators to render aid,
whether it's an earthquake in Italy, a flood in India or a
hurricane in the U.S.

In times of crisis and natural disasters, ham radio sometimes
is the only surviving means of communication. They can relay
messages through their radios over long distances when telephones
and power lines fail or are overloaded. Sometimes they are the
only way government officials can get messages to disaster
ravaged parts of a remote area.

Ham radio operators have been and still are a very important
factor in providing disaster communications. In the United
States, they are supported by the American Red Cross, and nearly
every police agency across the nation.

In the United States, two organizations of amateur radio
operators exist nationally for disaster communications.
They are the:

Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES)
http://www.ares.org
and the
Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES)
http://www.races.net/

RACES is a special part of the amateur operation sponsored by
the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). RACES provides
emergency communications for civil preparedness purposes only.
RACES is conducted by ham radio amateurs using their primary ham
radio station licenses or by existing RACES stations. In the
event that the President invokes the War Emergency powers,
ham radio amateurs officially enrolled in the local civil
preparedness group would become limited to certain frequencies,
while all other amateur operations would be silenced.

Any United States citizen, who possesses a valid FCC Ham Radio
Operator License, technician class or higher, is eligible to
become a member of RACES. The services of ham radio operators
who have a Novice Class license may be used, but this is not
recommended due to the privilege limitations.

The Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) is a corps of trained
ham radio operator volunteers organized to assist in public
service and emergency communications; it is sponsored by the
American Radio Relay League at http://www.arrl.org . Usually, the
ARES is organized by city and county and will be affiliated with
the local municipality or county government. Every licensed ham
radio operator amateur, regardless of membership in ARRL or any
other local or national organization, is eligible for membership
in the ARES. Frequently, local chapters combine with RACES,
although the functions of ARES and RACES are somewhat different.
To operate during a declared emergency, you would normally be
part of RACES.

Ham radio operators play a vital role in saving lives through the
use of their ham radios and they are not allowed to receive any
compensation. Ham Radio's purpose is to spread goodwill around
the world through wireless communication, provide volunteer
emergency communications in disasters, and maintain a pool of
experienced and knowledgable radio operators and electronics
enthusiasts.

Are You In The Wrong Job?
Copyright © 2005 Deborah Brown-Volkman, All Rights Reserved
Surpass Your Dreams

Are you happy when you come to work in the morning,
or happy when it is time to go home? Do you look
forward to Friday, and then get knots in your stomach
on Sunday evenings? If this is the case, there is
probably nothing wrong with you physically. You may
be in the wrong job.

Most people view their lives as being separate parts:
work life/social life/home life. Your life has many
components, but when you are in the wrong job, the
rest of your life is out of balance too.

So How Do You Know If You Are In The Wrong Job?
Ask Yourself The Following:

1. Do I Have A Hard Time Falling Asleep At Night?

Are you so wound up at the end of the day that you
cannot seem to calm down at night? If you are
playing the same thoughts in your head over and over
again, you are probably trying to get closure for the
day. You could also be trying to make sense of what
is happening around you. If you were in the right
job, you would fall asleep easier.

2. Do I Have Trouble Making It To Work On Time?

Most of the time, being late does not happen by
accident. Yes, outside circumstance could be the
reason you are not getting to work on time, but your
lateness is probably a result of you not wanting to
be there. If you were in the right job, you would
make it to work on time.

3. Do I Feel Rundown?

Have you put on weight recently? Stopped exercising?
Do you get frequent headaches, stomachaches, or
colds? All are tell-tale signs that your job is
taking away from your quality of life. If you were
in the right job, you would not be punishing your
body like you are.

4. Do I Wish I Were Somewhere Else?

If you wish you were something else, then it may be
time to make a plan to get yourself there. There
does not have to be anything wrong with you for
wanting something different. If your inner voice is
screaming for more, it may be time to listen. If you
were in the right job, you might think about doing
something else, but not all the time.

5. Do I Believe That There Is Nothing I Can Do About
My Situation?

When you are in the wrong job, you lose the
ability to see a way out. You become consumed with
your unhappiness, and forget that something is better
around the corner. If you were in the right job,
your thinking would be more clearer.

Choosing the wrong job is a common mistake and it
can be fixed. You can use this as a learning
experience and move on, or you could use it as an
excuse to stay where you are. No matter where you
are, you can make it better. The choice is up to you.

So, what will it be? You only have one life to live
so it might as well be a life you love!

If you're looking for a vacation getaway in North America with
some of the most breathtaking scenery in the world, a place
where you can see unspoiled wilderness and wildlife during the
day, hike, bike, or fish, and then be pampered with a massage,
facial, or body treatment, and enjoy a "high tea" in the
afternoon, then consider traveling to the Chateau Lake Louise
in the Canadian Rockie Mountains.

A two hour drive from Calgary, situated on the bank of Lake
Louise a vacation at the Chateau Lake Louise will have you
thinking that you're actually vacationing in a Swiss Chalet.
Personalized service is the key here, any wish will be granted.
The Chateau offers a spa and health club, with an indoor pool.
There are at least six dining room serving hamburgers to
Alberta beef tenderloin with black truffle potato gratin, and
everything in between.

Travel here any time of the year. During Spring, Summer, Fall
or Winter, Lake Louise has something to offer everyone.
Canoeing, hiking, mountain biking, fly-fishing, and horseback
riding are just some of the outdoor activities offered in
Spring. For winter travel there is downhill skiing, heli skiing
and plenty of cross country skiing. Lake Louise is one of
Canada's largest ski areas with a 3,250 ft. vertical drop. A 40
minute ride will have you to the Sunshine Ski Area which boasts
the longest ski season in Canada. Shuttles run between the
Chateau and the ski area.

If you're the adventurous type you might want to travel through
the Banff National Park area. The Bow Valley Parkway is a scenic
route that parallels Highway 1 between Banff and Lake Louise. On
this lovely and winding drive you could easily see a lot of
different wildlife, wolves, elk, mountain goat and moose. Banff
is also the home of The Cave and Basin National Historic Site
where the first hot springs were discovered. Also not to be
missed is the Sulphur Mountain Gondola which will give you an
eagle's eye view of Banff atop of Sulphur Mountain - don't
forget your camera!

WEB ANALYTICS - MORE THAN JUST NUMBERS

By Stephen Oachs, VisiStat.com
Copyright 2005
1001 words

UNDERSTANDING YOUR USER'S WEB SITE EXPERIENCE

According to WikiPedia.org, Web Analytics is defined as,
"the monitoring and reporting of Web site usage so
businesses can better understand the complex interactions
between Web visitor actions and Web site offers, as well
as leverage that insight for increased customer loyalty
and sales." By tracking movement and monitoring the path
and activity of site users, Web analytic tools provide
valuable information about individual user behavior. This
data provides you with important insights based on
watching user movements within your website. You will
be able to track how users navigate through your site,
which pages are most frequented, where users exit your
site and any number of other behavioral traits.

Visitor traffic statistics can tell you much more than
how many customers visited your site on a given day.
A good Web analytics service will provide you with the
ability to slice-and-dice your visitor reports so that
you can readily identify peak traffic periods by hour,
day, week, month and year. The benefit to this granular
breakdown is that you can identify trends that can be
used to provide an enhanced user experience. For example,
if your Web site is used to promote a restaurant, you might
tailor your menu pages to display a lunch menu during peak
morning Web traffic and a dinner menu during peak afternoon
hours. Using Web analytics, you can identify the best hours
to present dynamic content. Your Web developer can provide
this functionality on your Web site, increasing your users'
interest, providing them viable benefits over competitive
sites, and bettering the chances that your visitors will
find what they are looking for and not abandon their search
in frustration.

DO WEB TRAFFIC REPORTS TELL THE WHOLE STORY?

If you are only crunching numbers, it is impossible to
accurately judge whether a user has had a satisfactory
experience at your Web site. They may have found the
information they were seeking, they may even have purchased
your products, but visitor number tallies alone cannot tell
you if your visitors were confused or frustrated and whether
or not they will return to your site in the future. Nor can
they tell you what changes you need to make to reduce a
user's pain threshold at your site or what changes should
be made to increase the overall level of satisfaction with
their site experience.

By analyzing the "click path" (also known as "clickstream")
of your visitors, you can begin to understand their
behavioral patterns. Then, suddenly, behavior analytics
becomes a powerful tool for optimizing your Web site content
and overall performance.

Click path reports can also be very useful in identifying a
navigational issue commonly known as, "click distance."
Click distance refers to the distance in which a user has to
move their mouse in order to navigate your Web site. If your
site navigation is cumbersome, you may be causing the end
user more click distance and as a result they may not see,
or find, links to pages that are important to your site's
success.

In addition to click path and click distance, it is also
important to understand the means in which your visitors
access your Web site. Statistical information about their
computer operating system, browser type and screen resolution
can go a long way in helping you provide optimal content and
navigation. For example, if your Web site provides a software
download, you can improve your visitor's experience by
dynamically directing them to a download page that is best
suited for their computer type. If, in your operating system
analytic reports, you find that you have a high volume of Mac
users, then it would be wise to ensure that the nature of your
content satisfactorily relates to them. Another great example
of technology analytics would be screen resolution. If you have
a large percentage of visitors viewing at 800x600 it would
behoove you to ensure that your Web pages view well at that
resolution. If not, you are forcing unneeded horizontal scroll,
which could in fact be a troublesome source of abandoned visits.

THE KEYWORDS TO SUCCESS

It is a well known statistic that 85% or more of Web site
traffic is derived from search engines. Search Engines
provide a fuzzy roadmap to billions of Web pages -- hopefully
this includes yours. If you are listed, you really are the
proverbial needle in a haystack, so maximizing your search engine
relevancy is one of the most important marketing strategies you
can employ. An additional benefit of understanding keyword
relevancy is that this data will go a long way in helping you
streamline your visitor's experience. Once you have the
information, you can take your visitors directly to specific
pages within your Web site, potentially bypassing irrelevant
levels of information that might otherwise cause them to lose
interest, thus prematurely exit your site.

Again, Web Analytics offers insightful information by providing
you with actual keywords and key phrases used by real customers
who found your Web site from a search engine listing. Within
keyword reports, what you do not see is often more important
than what you do. For example, if you sell red sweaters and
the key phrase "red sweaters" does not appear in your search
engine keyword reports, or has limited use, then this provides
you with key information about your meta data and marketing
efforts for that page(s). If you combine search engine click-
through analysis with visitor click path (which pages they are
starting on) you can instantly identify which pages are marketed
well and which need improvement.

THE BIG PICTURE

To truly understand all the factors contributing to your Web
site user's overall level of satisfaction, you must combine
your knowledge of visitor traffic, behavioral analytics and
keyword analysis. This melding of data provides a far richer,
extensive and complete picture of your user's Web site experience
and provides you with a vital road map of the actions necessary
to enhance your visitors' site experience; and this will keep
them coming back.

--------- ARTICLE START ---------------

Create a Hummingbird Garden Habitat

It's not difficult to create a garden that will attract hummingbirds,
but if you'd like to build a habitat in which they will happily nest
and live throughout the northern summer, you need to provide them with
more than a sugar-water feeder and a plant or two. An active
hummingbird garden doesn't need to be large, but it will have all of
the following key ingredients to attract and keep the attention of
"nature's fairies".

Choose plants that attract Hummingbirds
Flowers are, of course, the key ingredient in attracting hummingbirds
to your garden. The tiny birds feed on nectar that is produced by
flowers, and they seem particularly attracted to plants with trumpet
or tubular bright red and orange flowers. Favorites include
rhododendrons, azaleas and rose of Sharon bushes. For northern gardens
that attract the ruby-throated hummingbird, choose plants that flower
at different times during the blooming season to provide food for them
throughout the spring, summer and fall.

Spring Bloomers - Azaleas, rhododendrons and rose of Sharon bushes
make a great 'background' for hummingbird gardens. They bloom early in
the spring and continue blooming through the early summer. Pink and
bright red varieties are favored, but hummingbirds love all Rose of
Sharon varieties.

Summer Bloomers - Bleeding hearts and red mountain columbine bloom in
the early summer, as do petunias, morning glories, trumpet vines,
trumpet honeysuckle, and impatiens, all of which attract hummingbirds.

Autumn Bloomers - Butterfly bush, day lilies, garden phlox, bee-balm
and impatiens all will keep hummingbirds returning through the autumn.
These blooms will also attract late migrators too.

Provide a source of water in the hummingbird garden
Unlike larger birds, hummingbirds will seldom take advantage of a bird
bath or bowl of water. Instead, they relish cool mists. A garden hose
with a misting attachment or a small fountain that can be adjusted to
a fine mist will keep them happy.

Create perching and nesting space in your garden
Hummingbirds need shelter from predators, plus small branches for
perching and resting (yes, they do perch sometimes!). By choosing a
few taller bushes or trees, you can provide both.

Several strategically placed hummingbird feeders
There are dozens of commercial hummingbird feeders designed to be
attractive to the little wanderers. Choose feeders with bright red
accents, and a capacity for about 8 ounces of sugar water. Instead of
using one large feeder, place 2-4 of them around your garden, out of
sight of each other if possible. Hummingbirds are notoriously
territorial. By providing several 'private' feeding stations, you'll
increase the number of hummingbirds that you attract.

5 Top Tips To Increase Your Personal Power

=============================================

Have you ever started a new project full to the brim with
enthusiasm only to have your enthusiasm and motivation wane
as the months go by? When we're pursuing something of worth
in our lives, enthusiasm and motivation are two very
important factors. They act as driving forces for us and
keep us on course to achieve our goals. So how can we
maintain high levels of both? Try these ideas:

1. The most important one: Have at least one person in your
life who is like-minded. This means someone who wants to be
the best they can be, who has dreams and goals and takes
action to make them a reality. I know such people can be
hard to find! They don't have to be following the same
course in life as you. My best friend is studying to become
a pilot and I enjoy computers and writing, yet because we
love what we do, we help each other stay focused and
motivated. But where can you find similar people? Try clubs
and associations connected with your interests, the
workplace, and of course, the Internet. Pick any subject and
I guarantee you will find groups and forums for it online.
Be proactive - seek out positive people. What they bring
into your life - and you theirs - is priceless.

2. Watch inspirational movies. This is going to be down to
personal taste, obviously, but here's a selection of films
that inspire me: The Star Wars films, Rocky I & II (the rest
are no where near as good!), Shawshank Redemption, Twelve
Angry Men, Guess Who's Coming To Dinner, The Count Of Monte
Cristo - There's many more but these are my favourites and
never fail to give me a boost. You could also add to this
videos and DVDs of your favorite sporting moments - in fact
anything that inspires you. Build your collection and watch
them when you feel enthusiasm levels dropping.

3. Related to the first tip: read biographies about people
you admire. Again, personal taste will dictate who you read
about but here's some people I admire greatly: Martin Luther
King, Lance Armstrong, Helen Keller, Sir Winston Churchill,
Lord Horatio Nelson, Franklin D and Eleanor Roosevelt,
Muhammad Ali to name but a few. The beauty about this is
that you read about people who achieved so much with their
lives. You are learning about people who "walk the talk"
rather than listening to people who haven't done anything
and may well be negative about life. If you want to achieve
your dreams it is absolutely vital to stay positive. Reading
about people you admire will do for your positive attitude
what pizzas do for your waistline, i.e expand it!

4. Have a picture board and fill it with pictures of your
goals: Type of house, views of the area where you want to
live, car or boat or bike you want, jewelry, clothes -
whatever it is you want! This is to give you a visual
reminder everyday about the goals you are pursuing and
reminds you that what you are working towards is something
very worthwhile. It boosts enthusiasm and keeps you focused
and on track.

5. Read quotations everyday. I'm a big believer in the use
of quotations to inspire and I'm always on the lookout for
new ones to add to my list of favourites. My list is 6 pages
long and growing! Here's a couple of good websites to
checkout:

www.quotationspage.com & www.motivatingquotes.com

And to practice what I preach and to close this article
nicely, here is the lastest quote I've added to my list and
the one that inspired me to write this article:

"If you aren't fired with enthusiasm, you will be fired with
enthusiasm." - Vince Lombardi

And there you have 5 tips to help you maintain your
enthusiasm and motivation. Put all 5 to use and you will
stay positive and on course to achieve your goals!

Until next time.

Resource Box: Chris Green is the author of an amazing new
book that will show you how to conquer fear and make your
dreams happen. Welcome to your personal power revolution!

Let's Kill All the SEO's
by Stephan Miller

Yes, it does seem to be open season. And it does seem that
anyone who tries to make their website rank higher in search
engine results is lumped together with search engine
spammers.

Now, I would understand this a little more if search engine
technology was at a level where I type a phrase in and find
what I am looking for. But people's minds works differently
and no search engine will ever be able to account for this
factor.

A newbie to a certain technology, doesn't matter which,
doesn't use the same terminology as an expert. He will use
terms that relate to his areas of expertise and as he
progresses, this terminology will evolve until it is more
precise. Therefore, there will be many levels of vocabulary
that he will use in this progression. As SEO's, we recognize
this.

A person may type in "change belt in my car", not knowing
that there are multiple belts in a vehicle and each vehicle
may have different procedures for changing this belt.

The more "authoritative" website may never use this exact
term. They will use "change a timing belt in a 94 Toyota
Camry" or "changing the drive belt in a 95 Chevrolet
Corsica." While the SEO, who has researched search terms on
internet users, will know the vague terminology that newbies
may use.

This is the job of an SEO. To bring people the information
they are looking for. Maybe make a sale while they are at
it, but still an SEO knows the pulse of what people are
looking for more accurately than the run-of-the-mill
textbook webmasters.

People looking for something on the web are looking for
something quick. They do not care that the language they may
use is inaccurate. They don't want to read a manual before
they type words into Google. They just want the info. As
SEO's we bring it to them and reap our rewards.

To do this, we learn a little about the search engines we
submit to. It's a necessity. And I think this makes the
internet a better place to find things. To suggest otherwise
would be like saying that people born with bad eyesight
should be forced to live without glasses.

Of course, I am only speaking for those on the white-hat
side of SEO. Presenting a false front to search engines is
not good practice. Just give people what they are looking
for and add value to your site.

Let the blind continue to lynch SEO's. Let search engine's
change their ranking algorithms. Let spammer's continue
their games and get banned. Let the non-SEO webmasters
continue to website equivalent of Siberia. Then sit down,
know your audience, know your competition, know your search
engines, and write.

[aageneral] Singing -The Tonic Of Life

Singing - The Tonic Of Life

Most people these days would associate singing with the popular
music they see and hear on the radio and tv. This can make you
feel like its beyond you , like it's some form of high skill
that you need to be born with. A natural talent if you like. In
fact singing is much more a part of our everyday lives than you
might realize, and it can be a tonic for an improved state of
mind and a recipe for stress reduction and better health.

The best example of this is ; think about the songs that when
you hear them on the radio make you remember something wonderful
in your past. The song that reminds you of your first kiss or
when you proposed to your partner, or perhaps just some good
times with friends at school or work. You can be sitting all
alone feeling sorry for yourself about the way life has treated
you and a song comes on the radio that reminds you of a great
time in your life.

I'm sure you have songs that do this to you. Songs that you sing
along to in the car at the top of your voice, ignoring the
strange looks from other drivers at the lights. It can be a form
of instant atitude adjustment and will often completely erase
the effects of a bad day. This effect is multiplied ten fold if
you can sing along with a favorite song. For the moments when
you sing along you get to journey through a personal fantasy, a
kind of mental movie of events that you recall related to that
song. When you sing along to a CD in the car you get to
momentarily exit this reality and visit another which is tailor
made by you.

There is even a flip side to it. I still find it hard to listen
to a particular Led Zeppelin song which I associate with
breaking up with my first wife. However, when I do hear it I
feel like singing along because it makes me remember how much
better things are now than when I was with her. Funny how that
works.

If you are the sort of person who has a lot of emotional ups and
downs in your life then you could try this little trick for a
kind of instant pick me up. Make a CD up of about 10 of your
favorite songs and keep it with you at all times. Make sure
these songs are related to great times in your life. When you
are annoyed or upset, or just need a bit of a boost put the CD
on and play one song at random. Do not play more than one song
and resist the urge to play the same song each time. Playing the
same song will reprogram you to associate it with your current
situation and it will loose it's effect. Then sing your head
off! Make sure you are alone and sing from the heart. Don't
spare the horses - just go for it. Make sure you take a good
deep breath to start and concentrate on the sound of your own
voice, not the voice of the singer in the song. This will help
you pitch correctly and make you feel like you are a real singer
on a stage.

Many people simply ignore music in their environment. They
regard it as background noise like traffic or the murmur of
people talking in a cafe. The truth is music is a custom built
emotional trigger. We all react to it in different ways. How
many times have you found a piece of music totally distracting
when you are trying to concentrate on something? This is because
music is created specifically to evoke a response, it is looking
to push your buttons, to make you participate. The next time you
see some motor racing on the tv check out the sort of music they
put behind it. It won't be Beethoven or Mozart, it will be high
speed aggressive guitar music. How does it make you feel? This
music is chosen to evoke an adrenelin response, to get you
excited and feel like you are part of the action. Conversely,
you are unlikely to hear thrashing guitars used behind a
documentary about gorillas in Kenya, you will hear thoughtful
music that is designed to create empathy and wonderment.

All this means that you should take more notice of the music
around you and try to participate whenever you can. Above all,
try to listen to music that allows you to sing and express your
emotions, let it all hang out and don't give a damn about what
other people think. The next step is to get better control of
your singing voice. Try getting some karaoke tracks and sing to
those regularly. From there you might consider some actual
singing lessons.
The benefits are huge in terms of improving your sense of wellbeing
and confidence. Finally, pay a visit to The Explore Your Voice Show
Podcast. It's a half hour downloadable mp3 audio show on the
net where we talk about all aspects of singing, performing, and
getting your voice into shape.
Just the tonic you might need.
