[aageneral] Gladness

~ Gladness ~

(suggested midi - He Has Made Me Glad)

Glory and honour are in his presence; strength and gladness are in his
place. Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let men say
among the nations, The LORD reigneth.

And at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites out
of all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, to keep the dedication with
gladness, both with thanksgivings, and with singing, with cymbals, psalteries,
and with harps.

The Jews had light, and gladness, and joy, and honour. And in every
province, and in every city, whithersoever the king's commandment and his
decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a good day.

Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn
and their wine increased. I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing
praise to thy name, O thou most High. Thou hast turned for me my mourning
into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; I
will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble;
thou hast known my soul in adversities; Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye
righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof,
and be glad. Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous
cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath
pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. Let all those that seek thee
rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually,
The LORD be magnified.

Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God,
hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. All thy
garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces,
whereby they have made thee glad.

With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into
the king's palace.

There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the
holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. Let mount Zion rejoice, let
the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments.

Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken
may rejoice. Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God

him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.

O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the
people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah.

But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them
exceedingly rejoice. The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart
shall live that seek God.

Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as
love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified. For thou, LORD,
hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands.
Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the
fulness thereof.

The LORD reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be
glad thereof. Zion heard, and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced
because of thy judgments, O LORD.

Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.
Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing, and wine
that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and
bread which strengtheneth man's heart.

My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.

Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them fell upon them.

are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired
haven.

it. They that fear thee will be glad when they see me; because I have hoped
in thy word.

A Song of degrees of David.
I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.
The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.

The proverbs of Solomon.
A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his
mother. The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of
the wicked shall perish. Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a
good word maketh it glad. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man
despiseth his mother. Whoso mocketh the poor reproacheth his Maker: and he
that is glad at calamities shall not be unpunished.

Thy father and thy mother shall be glad, and she that bare thee shall
rejoice.

Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when
he stumbleth: My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, that I may answer him
that reproacheth me.

Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his
chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more
than wine: the upright love thee.

Go forth, O ye daughters of Zion, and behold king Solomon with the crown
wherewith his mother crowned him in the day of his espousals, and in the day
of the gladness of his heart. And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is
our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we
have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and
gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come into the mountain of
the LORD, to the mighty One of Israel.

The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the
desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. And the ransomed of the LORD
shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their
heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee
away.

And Hezekiah was glad of them, and shewed them the house of his precious
things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment,
and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures:
there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed
them not.

For the Lord shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and
he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the
LORD; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of
melody.

Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing
unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain
gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.

But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I
create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. Rejoice ye with
Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with
her, all ye that mourn for her.

For thus saith the LORD; Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the
chief of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say, O LORD, save thy people,
the remnant of Israel.

The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom,
and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the LORD
of hosts: for the LORD is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: and of them
that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD. For I
will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith the
LORD ... Because ye were glad, because ye rejoiced, O ye destroyers of mine
heritage, because ye are grown fat as the heifer at grass, and bellow as
bulls.

Then was the king exceeding glad for him, and commanded that they should
take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no
manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God.

Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great things.

he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down
for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.
And the
LORD God prepared a gourd, and made it to come up over Jonah, that it might
be a shadow over his head, to deliver him from his grief. So Jonah was
exceeding glad of the gourd.

the heart, O daughter of Jerusalem.

of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be
to the house of Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts; therefore love
the truth and peace.

And they of Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, and their heart shall
rejoice as through wine: yea, their children shall see it, and be glad; their
heart shall rejoice in the LORD. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is
your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before
you.

And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they
have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; For Herod feared
John, knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when
he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly. And thou shalt have
joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth. And the angel
answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and
am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.

And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and
village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the
twelve were with him, And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the
people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him.

It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother
was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found. And when Herod saw
Jesus, he was exceeding glad: for he was desirous to see him of a long season,
because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to have seen some
miracle done by him.

believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.

rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope.

there were added unto them about three thousand souls. And they, continuing
daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house,
did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and
having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily
such as should be saved.

And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made
unto the fathers, God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that
he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou
art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. And as concerning that he raised
him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this
wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.

God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
